Great news! We’re teaming up with UK children’s charity Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK very soon! We’ll be auctioning off one of our beautiful oriental red leather Chesterfields (as seen on the X Factor and signed by the final contestants) to the highest online bidder, with the funds going directly to the charity which grants magical wishes to children fighting life-threatening conditions across the country.
We’d always planned to auction off our red Chesterfield, and we knew immediately we’d like to help out a children’s charity. Make-A-Wish was the charity at the forefront of everyone’s minds here at Distinctive Chesterfields, due to its continual work to give kids who are suffering from chronic, life-threatening illnesses a day they’ll never forget. We were particularly touched to hear about little Alfie’s recent family holiday to Butlin’s.
Poor Alfie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in January 2012, and at just four years of age he’s struggled to do things most children his age – or even adults – take for granted, like going to the beach, swimming and seeing shows. His ultimate wish? A holiday at Butlin’s with his family; a treat Alfie was granted by the team over at Make-A-Wish. Just take a look at this lovely family snap, taken on the break:
There’s lots of stories like Alfie’s over on the site, including Joe’s superhero surprise and Ella’s trapeze wish. Want to help kids like Alfie, Joe and Ella enjoy a special day they’ll never forget? We’ll soon be auctioning off this gorgeous red leather Belchamp sofa, signed by the live finalists of this year’s X Fact0r.
So not only will you be doing your bit for a charity which does excellent work here in the UK, but you’ll own a slice of X Factor history. Who knows, one of the contestants could go on to be a huge worldwide star! Fancy getting your hands on this sofa? Keep your eyes peeled here on our blog, and don’t forget to follow our updates over on Facebook too.
