Autumn/Winter Interiors Focus: Florals

24th November 2013

Ever since the Great British Bake Off with all its twee charm popped up on our TV screens, floral prints have made something of a comeback. Of course, it’s not just the Bake Off that’s inspired the trend; ‘granny chic’ is most certainly been doing the rounds for a while before that, with the pretty print featuring on the catwalks and popping up in retro-styled homes.

Here at Distinctive Chesterfields, we love the floral trend. But guess what, there’s a whole new floral print doing the rounds; it’s called ‘moody floral’ and the team at ELLE Decor has already raved about it over on the magazine’s site.

The ELLE Decor team suggests it’s not just plain old floral prints that are getting people talking; instead the print is blossoming (get it?!) to “take on a darker mood this season.”  This picture, first featured on the ELLE Decor website perfectly illustrates this stunning trend:

The 'moody floral' trend is a huge hit

What do you think of this dark and moody look (above)? We love this room (below) which effortlessly manages to incorporate two key autumn and winter trends – monochrome and, of course, moody florals?

How would you work this trend? Would you consider a Chesterfield in a dark floral fabric? We offer a bespoke Chesterfield service via our site; simply choose your fabric and colour and we’ll do the rest.
