Sugary Shades: Spring/Summer Interior Trend

You may well be detoxing for Lent, so apologies in advance if any of the following images cause your sweet tooth to tingle.

Today, we’ve selected our favourite rooms which use ‘ice cream’ shades to the very best effect. We’re talking sweet, sugary shades like mint green, lilac and soft yellow; shades that have us dreaming about lazy summer’s days spent eating deliciously fruity ice cream. And we’re not even out of March yet. Oh yes, we have some time to wait to make said dream a reality! But let’s not let that put us off.

Would you just take a look at this stunning shelving display, below? We love the mint green/blue shade, which has been emphasised with bright white trinkets and treasures, along with some bold, statement pieces. Do you agree this colour palette works?

pastel accessories

Below, the owner of this cool apartment mixes feminine-looking pastel shades with leather and even some black accents – like the huge print on the wall. It helps give the room a more masculine feel overall, and we think everything works really well together. Do you agree?

In the picture below, you’ll see the home owner here has used a whole load of ice cream shades to create a beautiful, vintage-looking kitchen. We love the mint green dresser and the pretty pieces of crockery on the shelves. The upholstered floral chair really sets the room off, too.

Will over at the Bright Bazaar Blog perfectly combines pastel shades in his home, seen below. This is an image taken from Will’s brand new book, details of which can be found via his blog.
