Our London Showroom: Two Weeks In

10th July 2015

In our last seven years in business, we’ve expanded our furniture range into a host of countries; the US, Japan, Sweden, France and Germany. But for us, London was the big one!

We’ve long had ambitions to launch in the capital and for a modest-sized, family-run brand like ours it really has been exciting seeing our plans come to fruition. The team’s worked extremely hard, too, helping us put the finishing touches to the showroom; designing and manufacturing brand new sofas and generally just being great sports. Nothing has been too much trouble for everyone and we’re pleased to say the launch of the showroom – on Monday, June 29 – went without a hitch.

The new premises is looking great; everyone from our painter and decorator to our showroom manager and team has given their all to making this new venture a success. I think you’ll be able to tell by taking a glance at the photos (below) just what a labour of love it’s been. I mean, how great is our London showroom looking? Our dedicated showroom staff have taken it in turns to head down to the big smoke to spend a few days chatting to customers in our St John’s Hill premises. While we reckon they’ve been glad of a change of scenery, we know it’s been a huge undertaking for everyone and our hats do go off to everyone. Our team really are as dedicated as we are to making our new venture work. Here’s what they have to say:

Gabriel Barbalata, our London showroom manager, says: “So far the feedback from customers is fabulous, they love the shop, the product and the service. Since we opened we’ve been busy with customers; they were curious to see what’s behind the window and to find out the brand story.” Gabriel says he’s been more than happy to help customers choose and he loves seeing them enjoying our furniture.
He continues: “In the 10 years that I’ve been part of the furniture industry, I have seen a lot of luxurious and quality products, but Distinctive Chesterfields (as the name suggests) offers something special; something different.
Our products have a unique note and style, making the traditional still current and giving every customer what they already secretly want. Everyone passing through our doors has confirming it; they’re all  so excited with the store layout and the products, telling us: “I have finally found what I was looking for!”

Mark Denby, Distinctive Chesterfields’ international sales manager, adds: “The showroom looks brilliant and will serve as a fantastic flagship for our now internationally-renowned brand. This should hopefully be the start of some exciting times for Distinctive Chesterfields and I cannot wait to see what the next chapter has in store for us.”

Meanwhile, Maxine was thrilled to finally put faces to names after meeting some of the customers she’s been chatting on the phone to for some time. Maxine’s our talented German sales executive here at Distinctive and after spending a few days in the showroom she had this to say: “Our new London premises is looking fantastic and it’s great that our customers in the south now have somewhere more convenient from which to view our furniture.”

Not yet popped into our London showroom? We’re at 4-5 The Parade, St John’s Hill and we’re open all day tomorrow (Saturday). Pop in and say hello – we can’t wait to meet you.
