I am the biggest fan of Chesterfield sofas! Quintessentially English, they have that stately, heritage-y groomed gent vibe that I am so attracted to. You can dress them up with cushions - think softly...Abigail Ahern
Purchasing a Distinctive Chesterfield sofa is like investing in a piece of art. Every phase of construction is hand-crafted by trained apprenticed artisans using the finest materials available. Each piece can take over 100 man hours to complete.
The leather is hand finished and hand cut by touch. The selection is superb using only top grain leather in antiqued, premium or deluxe styles with finishes that show the natural grain that only looks more magnificent as it ages.
The frame is built out of beech hard wood that is hand picked, cut and glued to exacting standards for strength and longevity.
Each spring is hand-tied for strength and comfort and then hand covered in additional amounts of wadding and batting for a superior seat.
Finishing touches include hand covered buttons and tufting, hand hammering from 300 to 1200 brass studs and French polishing by hand each mahogany foot.
The highest compliment is to be imitated. Many have tried but none can succeed to beat the most highly trained and skilled team in the industry. Just ask our customers. If you think you have seen these sofas at The Ritz in London or Oxford and Cambridge Universities, you have.
You will notice that the prices are comparable or better than other mass produced lines or those that are partially done by hand. The value is immeasurable.
All this hand work takes time – no short cuts are allowed here. That is what it takes to make a legacy piece of furniture that will last for generations – a work of art.
